MarthaPoints? You mean DadPoints by Baby E.

Monday: Baby E posts, which is great for me, for him, for Mondays in general. MarthaPoints, the awesome blog, gave him the idea to use her system of MarthaPoints on his own dad for DadPoints. (hmmmmmmm...he is counting on these posts more and more as a venting source..mea culpa totally).
Here's the review of Baby E's week, in his words:

MarthaPoints
My mom saves the blogs I can read for when we read blogs together. MarthaPoints is a blog we do together that she likes a lot. The other day when we were reading it, I said, "Martha Points? I'm going to blog about Dad Points."  And I think this is a good idea, because my dad is always getting points and losing points. Sometimes right away together. Like today, he woke up and made us pancakes, so he got Dadpoints for that. But then he made us do yardwork, so he lost all his DadPoints then.

I told him that, too. And I'm going to keep doing it, too.

The Family Bike Rides
Yes! It's been too hot this week to do family bike rides. I'm doing my backwards robot dance while I tell you this right now....

The Pool Here
Where we live, we have a pool in our town. It's a big pool with 3 slides and a diving board. We have a family pass, so we can go all the time. My dad takes us at night and on the weekends. I like to go. Except now the lifeguards know my name and say, "Baby E., WALK!" That is so embarrassing cuz they just don't say it, they use the MEGAPHONE and the WHOLE pool looks to see who is getting yelled at. I can't say hate, so I say I don't like that a lot.

Family Movie Night
One of the blogs my mom follows, Scraps of Life--the 64 arts,  told her about a good movie for us to see. It was called Flight of The Navigator. It was old, and the music was old, but my mom said that if it became too painful to watch, we wouldn't have to. But it was good right away. It's old, so you have to give it a chance to like it. But me and my brothers liked it. I thought I was going to have to pray that it was over, but I didn't.

Karate Kid
This movie was awesome! I wish I could do karate kung fu for one day. I would be so awesome. I can't practice in the house, I have to do that outside, which I don't like to because of the wasps and bees. I practice in my head right before I wake up.

Loopholes
This is how my dad loses A LOT of DadPoints. He finds loopholes. I don't like that. He'll say, "you can get on the computer when I'm done." So I say OK. And then he never gets done. And then he says, " I said when I was done."  And that's a loophole.

My New Tooth
My new front tooth is coming in. You can see it. It looks like a big piece of sideways rice. A really BIG piece of it. I don't like that becuz it scares me that my whole mouth is going to be filled with big RICE teeth and I don't like the way that looks in my head to me for my future. My mom says my face will grow with my teeth so I won't look scary.

Great America
We still have 2 summer trips yet. One is to Great America and the other is to The Renaissance Faire. I love The Renaissance Faire. The whole place is pretend, including the people. That is the funniest part. It's funny becuz it makes my dad crabby to go, but he goes. The pretend village people there follow him around and bother him and my mom told him it's becuz they can tell he is a grump and that is what makes it funny when they bother him. Like this one time a BIG skinny tall man who was grown up and dressed like a brown baby fawn followed my dad around on tiptoes and kept trying to sniff his hand and stuff and that made my dad SO MAD.  It made my mom laugh so hard she was crying.

And this other time, cuz we go every year as my wish, this BIG tall BIG strong man dressed like a knight followed my dad around and offered my dad some stuff for my mom. And then challenged him to a duel sword fight for my mom and my dad laughed about it the first little while then when the man who was so big kept following my dad around asking for my mom for some trade of stuff, then my dad said, "Alright, joke's over."

That's what makes going there the funnest.
My dad is fun.

Bye.

Me at my town's pool. I go in the deep end.  See my rice tooth?

On a serious note: please click over to In Pursuit of Martha Points to join up in an awesome blogging venture to raise funds and awareness for a significant cause that affects everyone.   One of the coolest ways I've seen to raise money and  awareness, right here.

THANK YOU!!!

  1. I must counsel Baby E to use the scale wisely to ensure that he takes full advantage of all the possibilities.

    And I applaud his creativity!

I never thought of all the uses for the Scale! Amazing!

  2. Dad sounds like he deserves extra DadPoints for his sense of humor... and for being a good sport about the Renaissance Faire. Nice post, Baby E!

  5. baby e,

haha. backwards robot danceing...you really need to include a video at some time.

i enjoyed karate kid as well. we took the boys to see it and they were chopping and kicking their way around the house for weeks.

your pool sounds nice. i really like water slides. we went on a cruise once that had a slide right there on the boat. and on cruise ships they use salt water in the pools. we tried to see who could make the biggest splash coming out of the slide.

dadpoints....hate to imagine what my score might be right now...hmm...smiles.

hope you have a wonderful week e!

  6. Baby E, this is what you need to do, you need to go find your mom, now that you have found her you need to give her a big, huge kiss and a hug because her reading blogs with you, together, is awesome!

  7. If your dad keeps up with his loopholes, he's going to have some seriously negative DPs to dig out of.

I want to see the backwards robot!

  8. Hi Baby E. Dadpoints...hmm very interesting, I could use a system like that. The renaissance faire sounds like it would be awesome. I wish I had one to go to but I think the Dad around here would be a little grumpy too ; )

  9. I am going to start practicing Kung Fu in my head before I wake up. It is an excellent idea and you never know when it might come in handy.

  10. "It looks like a big piece of sideways rice. A really big one." This made me laugh out loud.

  11. Baby E, I totally agree with your dad about the whole Renaissance Faire. I think you're lucky he goes every year. It gives you a day when you know you're gonna laugh a lot. He should get mega Dad Points for that.

  12. This kid is supremely funny! The pool story had me roaring with laughter!

  13. Baby E, my son takes Tae Kwon Do, which is like karate. It is awesome and fun. he really liked The Karate Kid too.

We love great America too. We used to live near there. Do you like the roller coasters?

    ReplyDelete
  14. I must admit I do this too, only I call it points for spouse. I usually don't say them out loud either, more in my head.

  15. Oh Baby E...you make me laugh SO much! I'd love to see your backward robot dance! I'm going to start reading your posts to my 5 year old son, I think he would love them!

  16. So glad that you and your brothers enjoyed Flight of the Navigator, Baby E! I'm thinking I need a re-watch of it again sometime soon, just for fun :)

  17. Your dad does sound fun, as does the rest of the summer! Thanks E for another fine blog post!

    ReplyDelete
  18. The Renaissance Faire used to happen right across the street from our ranch at the park....but it's no longer the current location...such a bummer. Enjoy the rest of your summer:)

    ReplyDelete
  19. Baby E, you're lucky to have two more summer trips to look forward too! Don't worry about the incoming teeth. You're mom is right; they'll fit your face perfectly when they're fully in position. Have a good day!

  20. Good Morning, Super E! Loved this post and the fact that you were doing your robot post backwards.

It must secretly KILL your parents that you understand things like the utilization of loopholes already.

    You are the coolest.

  21. Baby E - isn't it the worst getting called out at the pool? I still get called out for running and I'm almost 30! :)

    ReplyDelete
  22. Baby E is awesome. We lost a tooth a couple of days ago. It's scary when you are losing the second set of baby teeth...I feel old.

  23. I love when I find family friendly movies to watch. It's a Friday or Saturday night ritual for Bungalow'56. Baby E thanks for the great reviews. Your Dad sounds a lot like my girl's dad. Especially The computer time loophole and having men try to buy his wife ; ) The Agronomist always makes his kids go for drives. They don't like that very much. So I guess every parent has their glitches. I've heard the bigger the teeth the bigger you will have to grow to match them when you're an adult. So I bet you are going to be a big guy!
    Take care Baby E,
    Dana @ Bungalow'56
PS Thank your mom for showing us your great pool photo.

  24. Baby E - next you need to get yourself a good Calvin and Hobbes compilation... Calvin gives his Dad a regular report card, your Dadpoints reminds me of this!

    ReplyDelete
  25. Oh yeah, David would lose all his DadPoints at the Ren Faire. Grump.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Egads! Sorry you get yelled at thru the megaphone at the pool. Yikes! I would hate that!

Renaissance Faires are so much fun. My husband use to go all the time when he was in his 20's and he dressed up. I didn't know him then....probably a good thing. :)

    ReplyDelete
  27. Baby E I love your Monday posts! And I really want you to vlog your backwards robot dance :)

    ReplyDelete
  28. Baby E, you are hysterical! You made me laugh out loud reading this and THAT is tough to do!

    ReplyDelete
  29. Dadpoints - I love it - I gotta start using that with my husband! Also, I think your teeth are fabulous - not like rice at all:)

    ReplyDelete
  30. When I was younger I loved the renaissance fair. I've even seen pictures of my dad, in the midst of a duel at one! Nothing beats the giant turkey legs though.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I have been to your fabulous pool, Baby E and I can tell all your faithful readers that it is the finest municipal pool around! We didn't get a chance to come down this year to use it with my niece and nephew, so I am glad to hear that it is still the coolest place to stay cool!
    Enjoy the day!
    Erin

  32. Baby E Walk! No, just kidding. You make my Mondays happy. And you DON'T have rice teeth.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Baby E you are hysterical! And I think your dad should get some extra dad points for going to that faire. Especially if people keep following him around like that.

    ReplyDelete
  34. So do you earn Epoints? Just thought I'd ask.

I earn Mental points. All I have to do is act a little strange and I get bunches. It's easy.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Baby E is such a good writer and so funny!!! :)

    ReplyDelete
  36. I am inspired by this post to take up the backwards robot dance the next time I want to express my enthusiasm. ;) What a fun read.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Baby E, I have to see a video of that backwards robot dance!

My boys all loved Flight of the Navigator, too. And I think your dad gets Dadpoints for letting you and your mom blog about him...!

    ReplyDelete
  38. Baby E, you must be the coolest kid in town. Kudos! (And for the record, I am very glad my kids don't give me Mom Points!!)

    ReplyDelete
  39. Such a fun entry today! Laughed the whole way through.

I think I'm going to start assigning Roommate Points...

    ReplyDelete
  40. I need to get my chicas to "guest blog." This is a hoot!

    ReplyDelete
  41. Dear Baby E, I'm glad you can do that backward robot dance while you post. I am only able to type and yell at my kids as they do the backward robot dance all around me. There is four of them so the noise takes away my concentration, and then I can't blog, so I get annoyed. Would I lose points for this? Don't answer that Baby E. Keep posting, you are terrific!

    ReplyDelete
  42. My Little Man is getting his first teeth ever - they totally look like tiny sideways rice!

And I love your points system...may have to use that for the Big Man...

    ReplyDelete
  43. Oh my gosh Baby E! I'm so glad you got to see Flight of the Navigator. I could probably still recite all of the dialog right along with that movie. Every time it rained in elementary school they would keep us inside to watch a movie. They only had a few movies: Flight of the Navigator, Never Ending Story and Mr. Boogedy. Mr. Boogedy is a horrible old movie, but Never Ending Story is a classic that kids should still watch. Right up there with Flight of the Navigator!

    ReplyDelete
  44. I think your dad should get some major dad points for going to a Renaissance Faire and getting hassled by a baby faun ... that is hilarious! : 0

    ReplyDelete
  45. Flight of the Navigator ROCKS! Growing it up it was one of my very favorite movies and no one else had ever seen it. Glad to hear you're watching good stuff.

And Renaissance Fairs are highly entertaining places.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Baby E, don't worry about the rice tooth. It'll straighten out and even if it doesn't, the girls will go for it. Worked for Sam Shepard. (Ask mom.) Also, while you've got her, could you ask her if she found it a bit unrealistic that the mom in The Karate Kid could watch her son get repeatedly hammered into the ground and barely wince? That she could be all "You go beat up those meannies!" Would you ask her for me? Also, I don't think the megaphone thing is very fair. Maybe you could get one and shout stuff back, like "Nice tan, whistle boy."

    ReplyDelete
  47. i would love to see baby e's backwards robot dance. i also don't think a mouth full of rice teeth would be that bad. i get hungry at the most random and inconvenient times so it'd be nice to just gnaw on a tooth until i got to some food. see? rice teeth are pretty awesome--though, i'm sure not as awesome as the backwards robot dance.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Baby E, you are so hilarious! I love the way you describe your dad and I can totally picture it in my head. I have never heard of that place - I'll need to check it out! And speaking of picturing things in your head, I love that you do martial arts in your head. I wanted to watch Karate Kid too, but by the time I got around to it they had stopped showing it here where I live. I hope you have a great trip! Thanks for the fun, fun post today :-)

  49. Candace says:

this is hilarious. Can you do all 3 of your boys? I'd love to know what Alex and Max and Baby E are thinking.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Baby E, I don't think I've ever seen a backwards robot dance. What am I missing out on? My dad had a lot of loopholes too. No matter how old you get, they still manage to find loopholes. Karate Kid was one of my favorite movies growing up. I wanted to have those kung fu skills...wax on/wax off. If only I could catch a fly with chopsticks.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Baby E is hi-larious. Seriously. I only hi-larious when I think something is really funny.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Awesome post, Baby E! You're going to be one heck of a writer one day soon. Love your Dad points ;)Oh and we love that movie too Flight of The Aviator :D

    ReplyDelete
  53. The lifegaurds used to yell at me too - I totally agree - not nice. You're excited to be at the pool!

My oldest son (also an "E" by the way), is getting his second front tooth in - he calls them chiclets. I think they're adorable. Your Mama is right, one day you're teeth are going to look very small in your handsome head.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Baby E, I think you are adorable, as is your "rice tooth." I love your name as well. And your brother's names? They are super classy and awesome too.

I had no idea how your mom does it with 3 boys, and does it with a sense of humor!

    ReplyDelete
  55. I agree Baby E must use this scale wisely---points can be precarious. I like to store up my Mom Points for a long time, and then use them up a little bit at a time. Like since Hubs is getting a new car, I will buy myself some new clothes and attend a conference (CIP) I'm really excited about. And maybe get to sleep in on some weekends (yeah, right).

    ReplyDelete
  56. Oh, Baby E, I never used to look forward to Mondays before, and now I do...because of your posts! Fantastic!

We know about grumpy here, too. When my daughter was five she wrote a story called, "B, the Crabby Donkey." Guess what her Dad's name is? B!

    ReplyDelete
  57. Dear Baby E, you got POINTS from me for reading blogs with your mom. My son rolls his eyes at me. In fact, he rolls his eyes at anything I say or do. I wonder whether you would start writing advice columns for parents baffled by their preteen children...

I enjoy reading this entire post. I do have a favorite part: the one about your dad at Renaissance Faire. Since he entertains you and your family so much, perhaps you should consider giving him some points for great childhood memories.

    Best wishes.

  58. this is a marvelous read. some copy is just fun, like this, bursting with life.
i need to see the karate kid myself.
and it looks like a big piece of sideways rice? that is such a precious analogy.

  59. THANK YOU all for visiting Baby E.

Posting on MOndays are something that has become part of his life.

On Sunday nights, he'll pull out his journal, pull up his bench to the computer, and say, "Mom! We have to get my post in Preview."

    THank you!!! All of you.

    You're the best.

  60. Oh, Flight of the Navigator was one of my all time favorites. Tell me they've seen The Neverending Story too! :) If not, definitely put that in the movie night queue along with Labyrinth. And The Last Unicorn. :::longs for the '80s!:::
