I subscribe to IttyBiz for so many reasons. Naomi, one of the writers there, is a HUGE reason.
The post she has there today, "When you feel like a raging failure," is one you must go and read.
Just hearing, "you're not alone", is sometimes all you need to hear.
Yeah, it's been that kind of week for me, and this post here was Exactly what I needed to land in my lap.
Timeless. You'll love it. (The last paragraph is the best.)

Awww . . . Empress. Sorry your week has been "that kinda week". That was a great post. A reality check of you don't have to be perfect to be okay. Thanks for linking it.
ReplyDeleteOh, I feel bad for the lady. But message delivered, alright! I am not in a bad moment, right now, but I need to get some things done or else, blah.. time's going to begin asking me questions. Getting back to business.
ReplyDeletep.s. Thanks, Empress!
p.p.s. hugging you tight, dear girl! Praying for you.
ReplyDeleteYou're right - someones words of "Your not alone" helps a lot. It does.
ReplyDeleteHope your week improves.
Sending you hugs and thank you for sharing that link, on my way now.
ReplyDeleteIt was an excellent post!
ReplyDeleteBig kisses, my friend.
Haven't been able to comment in ages - my apologies. There are so many times that I'm going through something - depression, grief, etc. and just knowing someone else has been there is so helpful.
ReplyDeleteI wish you were my neighbor. I'd bring over some happy cupcakes and a bottle of wine. We'd snuggle on the couch and watch "Terms of Endearment" (nothing feels better than a good cleansing cry) and then "Under the Tuscan Sun" (helped me survive some very dark days - just the scenery alone).
ReplyDeleteYou're never alone. Virtual hugs my Queen.
You're right, sometimes you just need to realize how NOT ALONE we all are. That things being perfect on paper etc, doesn't mean they are...and that when you're having a bad day/week/month...year....someone else is too...and it won't be bad forever...you just have to get through.
ReplyDeleteHUGS!!!
Oh yes, I do so get that! And sometimes just knowing you're not alone is all you need. Well, not all. But it helps. A little.
ReplyDeleteI'd totally hang with you and Ash and watch some Terms...
Great post. It does help to know you are not alone, doesn't it?
ReplyDeleteThe last paragraph was my favorite.
Hope your week gets better. :)
Aw, sorry lady. I've been having one of those weeks too. My niece said it best, "When life gives ya lemons, sometimes ya just gotta get the hell out of town."
ReplyDeleteTaking that advice...
I am feeling you Empress through our computer bloodline. I understand. I know. I am having that same kind of week.
ReplyDeleteBut you know what? Even though it's frustrating at times and the balance never seems to work out, we are doing it.
We are doing it.
Every single day. We are being mothers and wives and something else too, something a little bit more for ourselves. And that's okay. And it's okay if we stumble and fall sometimes. And it's okay to let our family pick us up and dust us off. That family is watching you transform right before their eyes. And in the days to come, they will remember how you took care of them but at the same time you never gave up on yourself.
And that, in the end, is what will matter.
Stay strong. Stick out the bad week. There will be good ones to come.
I often feel like a Raging Failure seven times before breakfast, so yep -- this is helpful. Best wishes.
ReplyDeletelook on the bright side..it's thursday and the week is almost over, right? buck up, lil camper!
ReplyDeleteCheer up, Buttercup!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing that post....wow. We can all relate to that....
Aw, sending more (((hugs))) your way. Hope the BDT post at least cheered you up:)
ReplyDeleteWe're almost to the weekend so I hope that's a cheery thought!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing this post. I love the honesty and it's good to hear you're never alone. I hope this week turns around for you and that you're feeling better really soon. Hugs for you...you're an amazing Woman and this too shall pass :)
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry you're having one of those weeks. You are certainly not alone in feeling that way sometimes. I hope things look brighter tomorrow and I think you are Awesome...and you know that's all that counts, right ; )
ReplyDeleteHeart hug!
ReplyDeleteYou are one of the best moms I know, bar none. Better than me, that's for sure.
u r never alone-u have all of us MUAH!
ReplyDeleteAw..I'm so sorry you're having a rough go this week. I just gave this advice to my daughter. Maybe it'll be helpful: 1) if someone hits you, walk away and tell the grownup in charge and 2) if they hit you again, hit them back harder or knock them down.
ReplyDeleteHit back harder, whatever it is. I know you can do it. Hugs!
actually... that did help my sucky day just a tad... and reminded me that I need to be cleaning the house before my mother gets here to see what a miserable fail of a day I had.
ReplyDeleteSomeone tell me, please, why company can't schedule their visits around my moods? Why must they always invade my PMS-y home???
Going to read it because that is the story of my life. I love how you pay it forward....seriously you are one of the nicest bloggers in all the land.
ReplyDeleteOne of those weeks huh? I've been feeling it. It came through the blogosphere, and I'm sorry I didn't act on my hunch. Hope all is well now. I am thinking and sending good mojo your way.
ReplyDeleteHave a relaxing weekend,
Dana
As you could tell from my post, I've had that kind of summer! So I'm sending you hugs :)
ReplyDeleteMy post reveals the crummy time I've been having lately, too. Life has ups and downs. Look at it this way, when things improve, you're really going to appreciate it.
ReplyDeleteHugs.
Thanks!! I'm going over now!
ReplyDeletei just sent an email to lupe about how i've been upset for two days--i didn't use the word failure, but it's kind of been the overall theme this week/decade. heading over to read now...
ReplyDeleteSo sorry you've had a crapper of a week. :(
ReplyDeleteI send you hugs, kisses, chocolate, and maybe 3 extra boys.
I wanted to thank you for your comment and support. It means so much to me.
ReplyDeleteYour right, hearing the words, "your not alone" is so healing. When you know that your not the only one it just makes it easier to deal!
I hope you have a great upcoming week.:)
Big hugs and love!
ReplyDeleteWe all need to hear this stuff....otherwise, we do feel like we are the only ones who aren't all glee and glitter.
ReplyDeleteYou are a great, normal mommy. An Empress, yes, but so much like the regular folk as well.
One more day, till the weekend. I just countdown the days till the weekend to help with weeks like these.
ReplyDeleteHopefully the weekend will bring a fresh start.
It's true. You're not alone!
ReplyDeleteThinking of you, Empress--sending love over the airwaves.
ReplyDeleteOh, be still my grateful heart: Thank you to all of you, you always rescue me from the tidal waves of life.
ReplyDeleteTHANK YOU!!!!!
I love you more than I can tell you.
It may be something in the air....fortunately shortly it will begin a new week...new beginnings and new opportunities for greatness!
ReplyDeletethis is exactly what i needed today. thank you.
ReplyDeleteI subscribe to IttyBiz too, and I loved that post! Thank you for coming by my blog and leaving a sweet comment! I'll subscribing to yours, I can't wait to read more!
ReplyDeleteSmile! You are an awesome bloggy friend so I can only imagine what you are like in real life!
ReplyDeleteOh, Alexandra, I'm so sorry you've been having a bad week. It's been a horrible week for me too. I'm sitting here listening to my son CIO in his crib - for the fifth straight day - as I write this. You had me at "raging failure." Hopefully this weekend will be brighter for the both of us!
