Journal Entry by Baby E, Dec. 22, 2010 |
The flu has hit our house.
Hard.
Had baking cookies, decorating tree, wrapping presents, and mailing cards on today's list.
Now replaced with washing sheets, changing pillowcases, pajamas, underwear, and towels.
Also add store runs for gatorade and chicken broth.
2 days before Christmas.
Pray I don't go down.

We're all pulling for you.
ReplyDeleteSome of us more literally than others.

We have the flu too. It´s so bad. We get vulnerable in body and spirit.
ReplyDeleteHoping we all get better soon.
Oh no! That is the saddest picture. EVER.
ReplyDeletePoor everyone. Hope all is roses and rainbows by Saturday.
Oh no, Alexandra!!! Sending lots of health vibes your family's way. I know you are uber busy this time of year and can't be sick. Lots of hand sanitizer, promise?
ReplyDeletexoxo
Oh dear. Hang in there, and use lots of hand sanitizer. I'm pulling for you.
ReplyDeleteCo-worker in the same boat with 6-yo twins. Hang in there.
ReplyDeleteAwwwww hang in there- one year all 3 kids + hubby woke up x-mas morning with the flu- both vomiting & the runs- we couldn't open presents till the next day they were so sick! hopefully everyone is healthy for x-mas day!
ReplyDeleteOh man, that's awful!!!! And if your hubby has it, I weep for you. Praying for you guys. Hope this clears up for you to enjoy your Christmas.
ReplyDeleteMy sister's entire family just got over the same thing. Her six-month old had the worst of it.
ReplyDeleteHope you're better by Christmas!
Sending up a prayer that you stay healthy and your family feels better soon! I love the "I go poop alot" statement. My baby E has a sinus/ear infection AND runny poop.....hoping something gives soon! Good Luck to you!
ReplyDeleteSounds exactly like this house. Poor kid HOSED his bed with sick poop last night. He didn't even know he'd done it!
ReplyDeleteThank goodness Husband has the next few days off. Fingers crossed we're all done with the sickness by Friday!!
Fingers crossed the flu fairy skips you. Because we all know: mom's not allowed to get sick.
ReplyDeleteHope everyone is on the mend soon. Hugs.
Oh crap! I mean rats!
ReplyDeleteSorry you guys have to suffer! What a bad time of year to get sick.
Hugs to all of you guys.
OH no! I am praying that you don't catch it my friend.I am also praying fr a speedy recovery for your family so that you can all enjoy Christmas together and not gathered round the potty!Hugs to you my friend.Hope that you have a very Merry Christmas and escape the wrath of the Tummy Flu of 2010~
ReplyDeletePraying for you all! I know the feeling - my whole family got sick 10 years ago and that Christmas day is a blur. I think I spent most of it napping on the floor next to the three, and the dinner I made was mac and cheese for the little ones (they got it first so were feeling better than everyone else by Christmas night...didn't stop the littlest from covering his bed in mac and cheese that night, though...oh, the memories...).
ReplyDeleteGOOD LUCK and Merry Christmas!
Oh poor Baby E... get well soon sweety... Christmas needs your rocking posts!
ReplyDeleteWe have had lots of poop around here too. I am seriously hoping it all passes before company comes (tomorrow!). Round these here parts, we've been using the terms "poop sneeze" and "poop puddle."
ReplyDeleteHave you been going poop a lot?
ReplyDeleteGood luck!
I am so sorry! I think Baby Jesus will come through for you.
ReplyDeleteOh, poor you! I will be saying a prayer that everyone starts feeling better soon!
ReplyDeleteMy daughter just danced in Nutcracker this past weekend and that stomach bug was running rampant among all the dancers. The poor things would go on stage, dance, and then run off and throw up. I don't know how they did it. I kept texting my daughter and telling her to wash her hands or use hand sanitizer. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the flu doesn't make it's evil way into our house.
Good luck!
Oh no mama! Hang in there...hope everyone is on the mend soon!!
ReplyDeleteIf I don't get the chance to talk to you before then, have a very Merry Christmas my friend!!
xoxo
Uh oh, no - stay strong - you can do it! The flu sucks - it's been making it's way around my & my hubby's office so I'm praying we'll avoid it too, so nasty at this time of year. Hope everyone at your place feels better soon. Thanks for the holiday greetings you left the other day - Happy Holidays to you too, my dear:) xoxo
ReplyDeleteWe will pray for them to get better faster. Love you lots
ReplyDeleteAck!
ReplyDeleteHugs of solidarity here. I've got a cold, a bronchial infection, and a nasty wet cough here.
You will stay strong!
Oh no! Hope everyone is better in time for the big day!
ReplyDeleteAck! Here's hoping you stay free of The Crud. So sorry it's attacking your house - nothing worse than the flue! Feel better soon, Baby E!
ReplyDeleteI'm praying, baby, I'm a'prayin'!
ReplyDeleteHugs!
You're a strong lady. I hope you beat that flu up with abandon so that it flees by Sautrday!
ReplyDeleteEww, and aww, hope they feel better soon and so glad that you're still okay. *crosses fingers it clears up by Christmas.

p.s. thanks for showing your support of my book release.
UGH! I feel for all of you...there is NOTHING worse than the stomach flu. I am saying special prayers that you don't get it.
ReplyDeleteWhat's that they say - kids get sick days, moms get sick minutes. I sure hope this one passes you right by and that everyone is back to rights by Saturday...take care
ReplyDeletePraying for you! Hope everything is back to normal by Saturday. In the meantime Clorox wipe the heck out of everything. Except for their butts.
ReplyDeleteWell, I wish you the best but if you don't, it'll be a Christmas miracle.
ReplyDeleteYou won't be forgetting THIS Christmas any time soon.
NOOOO hang in there, be strong, you can get past it!!!
ReplyDeleteI am sending up a prayer. I hope all is well soon.
ReplyDeleteMomma can't go down! NO!
ReplyDeletenot gonna lie "i poop a lot" made me giggle. because we've been there. Poor Empire!!!
I'm pretty sure Baby E got that idea from a note I wrote awhile back. I hope everyone feels better soon and Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteSorry for all the illness. How all is well by the 25th.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas to the whole family.
Oh no!! I Hope everyone is on the mend quickly and you manage to avoid them altogether.
ReplyDeleteIs it wrong that I started laughing because Baby E mentions "poop" in the little note, and at the bottom of your post it has my old button and the saying Two Scoops etc.
Just wanted to let you know that since you introduced me to the RDC, I am giving you a shout out on my blog today.
THANK YOU and I hope you are having a wonderful holiday.
Ugh. I'd rather just send you a cook and maid service because I have a bad feeling you're going down (I always do).
ReplyDeleteFeel better this instant, all of you!
ReplyDeleteI thought maybe the stern voice would help...
Oh no! I hope everyone feels better super fast and that you don't go down with them!
ReplyDeleteOh no Alexandra! I hope your boys get through it quickly and I pray you stay healthy Mama!
ReplyDeleteOh honey, I'm so sorry! The joys of motherhood would be incomplete without icky stuff coming out both ends of our children at once! I hope they feel better soon and I hope you don't get sick too!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat?! Doesn't the flu virus know not to ever attack the empress? Off with their heads!
ReplyDeleteI hope that you all feel better soon! I'd give you a virtual hug but I'm afraid of catching what you got. Will you settle for a long distance high five while I'm wearing a glove?
Don't let it get you! (I hear cookies keeps the germ monster away...no, what am I thinking? it was the wine...could be wrong but it's worth trying)
ReplyDeleteHope everyone feels better soon Alex! xoxoxoox!
You poor dear. I read this when it came in my email yesterday and I just hung my head. Every mom's nightmare.
ReplyDeleteI am sending you all of my happy, sick-free thoughts.
Oh, no! I'm so sorry to hear it. Getting sick right around the holidays SUCKS so I hope Baby E is back to his old self in no time. Wishing you and your beautiful kingdom a very merry Christmas. *HUGS*!
ReplyDeleteI hope you're still standing! That's terrible.
ReplyDeleteFeel better baby E, Santa is coming!!!
oh Alexandra...poor Baby E and poor you and anyone else afflicted or about to be afflicted. I hear you. It's not the flu but we've got a milder version of what you have. My son was sick for the last 3 days and I stressed out tending to him and trying to get work done. Yesterday I started to get sick. My brother comes into town tomorrow and will be staying with us and the house is a MESS.
ReplyDeleteIt's always at the worst possible time.
I hope you all get through this and that the worst will be over by Christmas!!
Big hugs!!
Poor Baby E. But that journal entry is just priceless.
ReplyDeleteWe have the same thing going on in our house... I don't know how, but I've managed to escape it so far as well. Hang in there!
Oh NO! Here's to hoping that you stay healthy among all the germs!
ReplyDeleteIt's just NOT FAIR that the kiddos got sick right before Christmas!
I know you'll handle this crummy situation with good humor and grace, because that's just the kind of special lady that you are.
Merry Christmas!
Your comment on my last blog post was very funny. I hope you don’t get flu and your household recovers in time. Happy Christmas and all the best for 2011.
ReplyDeleteOh no, Empress! I am behind on my reading and then see this. I hope you are stil the last one standing (or at least not sitting on the potty all day) and that your family recovers enough to enjoy the holidays.
ReplyDeleteAll the best to you for 2011, and thank you for your wonderful words and friendship.
I hope everyone is recovering as speedily as possible! Wishing you the best, most joyous, loving holiday possible. And health for everyone. Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteHang tough, A! (loved Baby E's note, though)
ReplyDeleteI hope this comment finds you standing strong.
As I write, my husband has laryngitis. Let's hope he's the only one down for the count. Gotta love winter!
Girl I hope you feel better. We brought it over with us to the States. Kisses and Merry Christmas.
ReplyDeleteoh Boo! hope you were all feeling a little perkier, and less poopy, for the Christmas celebrations!!
