Jobs are good. If you have one, you're lucky.
I love mine. Let's get ready to start the New Year right, with some tips for getting your boss to like you, really like you, and keep you around a while longer.
Brought to you by Aiming Low, my post today--keeping that job you have, by finding out "What Your Boss Wants From You."
Here's to a peaceful, happy, employed New Year.

Thanks for your comment on 4P - we all miss Jason and it is wonderful to hear of others whose lives were affected by him as well. I hope you had a wonderful Christmas!
ReplyDeleteOooh, a new one - I haven't been doing a "learn something new everyday" - that'd be a gear-change! I usually resist wasting braincells on the arcane knowledge of the geologist I work under, but I really should know some of these terms myself so I don't have to ask him about them.
ReplyDeleteI like that you specified "Let me find out for you" rather than "I don't know" - that was a way helpful distinction for me, coming into my current job. Good stuff!
Right? I've seen people lie or pretend they know. It's hard to say I don't know, but to say I'll find out, shows you'll go the extra mile, and are conscientious.
DeleteThese are the things you learn when you become as old as the trees, as I am.

Loved the "Yes" (pumpkin head). I have been in those situations before.
ReplyDeleteYou're so right, one is lucky to have a job these days. Here in Sicily jobs are scarce. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year Empress! Here's to a fab 2013 for all of us.
ReplyDeleteLike you, I feel blessed to have a job I love. Happy New Year! xoxo
